FitnessMaking the right choices in your diet can really affect your fitness goals. Have you ever wondered why you feel sluggish after a big meal? Your body is working overtime to digest it and thus leaving no energy to spare.  Our protein ball packs average 150 calories per serving, giving your body the right amount of energy it needs. And for post workout, these protein balls give those muscles a little recovery fuel they crave.

However, recent studies have shown that adding some protein prior to your training session primes your muscles. It starts protein synthesis during rather than after your training session.

Pre-workout protein most likely increases amino acid delivery and uptake by muscles during training.  Either way, a "Sweets Gone Raw" Protein Ball is ideal for whatever you decide and what your body needs!

Enjoy!

Coconut

We’ve tossed the butter and replaced it with one of nature’s super-foods “coconut oil.” Populations that eat the most coconuts are known to be the healthiest in the world.  Benefits include, fat loss, superior brain function and various other health improvements. Coconuts contain unique medium chain triglycerides that can increase your energy and burn more fat. We like the sound of that!  Additionally, coconut oil is one of the few foods that can be classified as a superfood.

One of our most popular flavors, “Peanut Butter” has its own category. Peanuts are technically a legume, although often classified as a nut. Peanuts are great for improving satiety and thus maintaining weight loss. Sold already? There’s more… Peanuts are rich in vitamins niacin, folate, pantothenic acid, thiamin, riboflavin, choline, Vitamin B6, and Vitamin E. Peanuts are rich in minerals and have also shown to contain the ant-aging resveratrol. Research has indicated that niacin-rich foods like “peanuts” provide protection against Alzheimer’s and age-related cognitive decline. Our products contain organic peanut butter that is from lightly roasted peanuts and can actually boost digestion.

Liza & Sweets Gone RawIt’s hard to believe it’s almost been a year since Sweets Gone Raw was created. We are so excited with the response and that our products are becoming more available in stores and fitness facilities all throughout Kansas City. It’s no secret that more and more people are realizing that healthier eating leads to healthier lifestyles and longevity. Kansas Citians are flocking to all the new health food stores and showing their enthusiasm.

Sometimes, all the information out there about health food can be overwhelming. I have found myself perplexed at the many opinions these health experts claim. It’s important to be knowledgeable and yet know one’s own dietary needs.  We are all a little different on the inside as much as we are on the inside. After all, “we are what we eat”. This is a motto that our company strongly believes in.

Many restaurants and fast food chains are starting to feel this movement with the younger generation as well. As a mother of 3 young adults, I couldn’t be happier to see this generation embrace the healthy living lifestyle.  When in fact, they are the future!   ~ Liza
