Energy Boost with Sweets Gone Raw!Nearly everyone is all-too-familiar with the experience of feeling sluggish and slow, fatigued and lethargic. And if you’re anything like most people, your busy lifestyle demands more energy than you currently have to give. If your energy and fitness levels are running low, here are some quick tips for restoring your health, fitness, and vitality.

Improve Energy and Fitness by Reducing Sugar Intake
While sugar may give you a quick burst of energy thanks to a nearly immediate spike in blood sugar levels, sugar also leads to a quick crash-and-burn effect. When you fuel your body using sugar, a roller coaster experience ensues, leaving you even more listless than you were to begin with. Eating sugar is also associated with other health complications, and won't contribute to overall fitness or strength.

Perform Exercise to Increase Energy
While doing a workout when you’re feeling energy-less may sound counterintuitive and unpleasant, getting exercise can promote energy, fitness, well-being, overall health, and sleep. Try Zumba or dance for a high-intensity burst, or hire a certified personal trainer for one-on-one personalization, or consider joining a workout class or camp. If you don’t have the oomph to do a rigorous workout, stick with something low key and relaxing, such as yoga. In addition to improving energy, exercise can also increase your strength, which lends itself to health and fitness.

Fuel Your Body Smartly
Not only should you avoid sugar, but you should also make sure you’re getting plenty of vitamins and nutrients, protein, and essential fatty acids. Protein and fat are two of the best sources of energy and fuel, and unlike sugar, won’t lead to a crash. Choose healthy and unprocessed meals, and snack smartly by opting for raw, organic, non-GMO, and natural food fuel. When you eat right, you'll improve your personal health and fitness.

Get More Shuteye
Getting enough sleep is one of the most important things that we can do for our bodies, energy, and fitness. Not only does sleep aid in muscle and tissue repair, but it also backs up our memories, helps us to learn and retain information, combats psychological decline, and may prevent neurodegenerative diseases. If you’re not sleeping well—or if your deep sleep or/and REM sleep is being disturbed—you’ll wake up feeling fatigued. To improve the quality of your sleep, practice stress-reducing exercises, turn off artificial lights early on, avoid caffeine and alcohol before bed, and eat well.

You don’t have to live a life where you’re constantly tired; to get more energy and improve both fitness and mental and physical strength starting today, try reducing sugar intake, exercising on a regular basis, fueling your body smartly, and taking action to improve your sleep.
